I can and do give all kinds of workshops and
presentations. Some are for unpublished writers (who want to get published of course).
Others are for teachers (both about reading and writing). Other appearances are for school
groups (and I have made dozens of them, so I did not list them here). This is just a
sample of the kinds of workshops and presentations I have done--and they have been as
basic or technical based on the needs of the intended audience:"Native American History and Storytelling," May 2005, Clarksville, Tennessee. I was the invited speaker at an elementary school. What a fun afternoon! "To Young People on Writing: My Experiences," September 2004, Amelia Island, Florida. I was part of the Amelia "Book Island Festival, and spoke to more than 800 students on writing, publishing, and the importance of having fun! (See photos of this throughout this section). "On Writing AMAZING NORTH CAROLINA", Summer 2003, National Public Radio's "Fresh Air" Talk-Show. I was the featured author in seven mini-interviews out of the Charlotte, NC station. "The Amazing Story of Blackbeard and his Ship, The Queen Anne's Revenge," Summer 2003, Maritime Museum, North Carolina. This was a well-attended lecture--people of all ages came to listen to one of my favorite stories, and purchase their own copies of AMAZING NORTH CAROLINA.
