Valentine's Day thoughts

T. Jensen Lacey - Wednesday, February 08, 2012

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays--it's all about love and other people's expectations are usually low (unlike Christmas, for example).  Most people are thrilled to be able to do anything for or with a loved one. This year, I'll be happy to pick up a couple of veggie subs and have a picnic in the big pier park overlooking the bay as we watch the sun set.

Readers, I challenge you this Valentine's Day to show someone how much you appreciate them. Make it an unexpected gesture, like go out for a snowball fight (for those of you up north) or pick them some wildflowers (if you live in the south). If your Significant Other likes something, like going to the opera or the shooting range, go with them. Or even tell them, "Hey--I appreciate so much what you are and what all you do for me/us."

You will be surprised at the response!

Love--it's what it's all about.

Resolution: Help Change the World

T. Jensen Lacey - Monday, January 02, 2012

Everybody's heard of "The Butterfly Effect" and how one simple positive action in one part of the world can make such a difference in someone else's life. Andy Andrews, an author I know of, has made reference to this many times, both in his writing and in his speaking. I myself have been positively affected by actor Pierce Brosnan. Because of his work for marine mammals, one of my next works of fiction has this as its theme. He doesn't even know me, yet he has had an effect on my life and my work.

I challenge everyone: help change the world. Do one simple positive thing every day and see what happens. It may be years down the road, or merely moments.

Make 2012 your year of moments that may end up making incredible changes in the world. Maybe even just your part of it.

Cheers,

T.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

T. Jensen Lacey - Tuesday, December 27, 2011
Hello to all, thanks to John Rivenbark I'm actually able to post a blog to my website!  This year has been one of more shadow than sunshine for my family...here's to 2012 being better. I wish this to all of you as well! Happy New Year!
I'm only making resolutions I will not break, so this new year I plan on writing more fiction than ever! I also resolve to get at least one of my novels/novellas published.
